Transistor Logic Frequency counter MkI
This is the Frequency counter MkI it has been constructed using individual transistors resistors and diodes there are 211 transistors in total. The display uses 50 red LEDs and shows the frequency being counted. The display was made using red acrylic sheet and the numbers were printed onto waterslide transfer paper .

Inside The Frequency Counter MkI
This picture shows how the inside of the frequency counter is constructed each of the counter boards are plugged into the backplane with the input and main clock board plugged in on the right hand side. Each of the boards are made from stripboard prototype board and have a 3D printed frame that is screwed to the back plane.

Main Clock And Input Board
This is the input board and main clock board the main clock frequency is 1Hz generated by a 32.768KHz watch crystal with 15 divide by two flip flops. The gated input is switched on for one second and the frequency is counted up and displayed. The frequency is then displayed for two seconds and then the counters are reset and it all starts over again.

Counter Boards
This is one of the five counter boards in this frequency counter you can build one with less if you want to but the frequency you can count will be less. This frequency counter can also be used as a 24 hour clock by using the reset at six switch for the second counter board the time is displayed by feeding in a frequency from 0 to 1440Hz I have made a separate time to frequency board not included here.
